January 18, 2022 GMAAPN Meeting Minutes
Although we did not have a sponsor for our January meeting, Kathleen Murphy, Tennessee Nurse Association Director, did provide us with some useful information on full practice authority. It's discouraging that we're still battling so hard. FPA, on the other hand, has been filed for around two years. Rep. Bob Ramsey has reached an agreement on an additional amendment to transition to practice with specific elements to practice and prescribe. Representative Bob Ramsey, on the other hand, spoke with the American Medical Association, who emphasized that there will be no compromise on our FPA legislation. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we seek out politicians, patients, and physicians who will help us in our fight against FPA. Furthermore, the Tennessee Medical Association has shown little interest in assisting us in our fight against FPA. They're still trashing NPs. They are waging a war against our whole profession.
In February, we'll conduct a virtual Day on the Hill session. Kathleen Murphy will release further information. It will cover how to draft an email to your representative, how to talk to our politicians about FPA effectively, and how to make phone calls.
